OK, so I knew there were problems with the washing machine and the freeze.

I had to subcontract my laundry to various people at the weekend because the machine, sitting in the wash-hoose (ie porch, which basically is a wee glass box parked on the OUTSIDE of the house and away from the heating) was not going. Frozen, I thought vaguely.

So I padded downstairs in my goonie at 7am this morning to put on the kettle and found I was paddling. Two of the dogs shot out as soon as I opened the kitchen door, and the senior dog, (the one in the little icon) just lay there because that it is what she does until her morning walk, and nothing makes her change her routine. Not even water lapping around her bed.

The water was pouring out of the pipe which is usually connected to the plumbed in washing machine, and it had flooded the wash-hoose and the kitchen.

Fortunately it was clean water. I managed to twist the inpipe into the outpipe, letting it pour outside instead of inside, then I got the water off. Other Half got a plumber in at lunchtime.

I am really enjoying this weather. Tremendously. Don't know when I ever enjoyed weather more or which is more fun, the freeze or the thaw.
