Mid 60s and blissfully retired. Surprisingly good at doing nothing. The job disappeared, 40 years of industry service vanishing so casually, with no great drama and no fuss - no gold bracelet, no greenhouse, no farewell dinner, no cake, not even an exploding gold watch. The job was gone and me with it completely silently.
Content with life; well pleased with teeth; fairly dirty - surprisingly fond of water-logged, squelching trenches (result is not necessarily a good look for a human being); creeping traces of dementia (can never find the dining room light switch).
Still curious about what happens next.
